A cute little roadrunner joined us for lunch yesterday. I didn’t see the coyote though.
As you may know, the Golden Crown Literary Conference is coming here to Albuquerque New Mexico in July. I’ve been working with a group of other Burque’s to be the ground crew getting everything ready. We’re a little confused, however. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is slated to be like the cons have been before, and even the planners and board people have changed. So, we’re a little nervous, as most of us have many years’ familiarity with the old format. We did a ton of work prepping for the 2020 con, that covid prevented, and it’s all now been scrapped due to the new regime. But it should be interesting. I think more than 200 people will be attending, down from our usual 300 but with covid still lurking, I am pleased at the number. It will be so wonderful to see all my Internet friends that I haven’t seen since before covid.
In other news, I FINISHED Rosemary, the second book in The Desert Willow series, my scifi series published by Bella Books–bellabooks.com. It was a long road as I was mostly paralyzed by the pandemic, so this feels like a real accomplishment. Now I’m working on a book edit and also working on Progressive Proof, a sort of unorthodox, gritty romance that is slated to be published by Flashpoint Publishing–flashpointpublications.com.
I did a livestream and reading for one of my publishers, Desert Palm Press–desertpalmpress.com and I have another scheduled for May 22. It was a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to the next one. I’m also trying to get a slot to read at the conference, so I can share some of Rosemary with my readers and friends.
So, it’s been a busy couple of weeks, plus Chris and my dear friend, Fran, both had birthdays. That’s all for now. Talk soon. ehugs
